Welcome to Creative Passages!
I am thrilled you visited my website and hope you are encouraged and blessed by what you find here. My name is Cassandra Donnelly, and this is my art gallery and blog.
I am prophetic artist, writer, speaker, minister, and intercessor. I not only love to create art, but I love to share the prophetic messages God gives me in order to build, edify, encourage, and inspire others. Here you will find my art, writings, prophetic words, videos, and ministry page.
I live in Norfolk, Virginia, near the sea, which I absolutely love. I am orginally from Canton, Ohio, but have lived in various places such as Monterey, California and Charleston, South Carolina. I am Army veteran and full time art therapist at a psychiatric hospital working with teens and adults.
I have a Bachelors in psychology from Charleston Southern University and art therapy training. I am mostly a self taught artist, although I’ve had some drawing, painting, and sculpting classes at the College of Charleston.
I consider myself to be a spirit-filled mixed media artist, although I love and create in various art forms such as watercolors, oil pastels, alcohol inks, collage, and digital art. I love to experiment and try new things. I am more of an intuitive, process-oriented artist. I love color, texture, and layers. I love the endless possibilities with mixed media and even combining the original art pieces into a new digital piece.
My art is usually inspired by my inner emotional landscape, spiritual impressions from God, and the beauty and nature around me.
Aside of art and writing, I love nature, hiking dancing, worshipping, flagging, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places or trying new things.
I have sort of a care-free, artsy, whimsical, bohemian vibe, but also a more driven, passionate side which is always pressing forward into the things of God.
I am a mother and grandmother with an abusive past and heart to see multigenerational healing in families. I also have quite a burden to contend for the healing and deliverance of our nation. My past sexual abuse affected every aspect of my life, but it also provided me with a mission and testimony, which is often reflected in my art, writing, and workshops.
God gave me a mandate to “overcome and show others how to do the same.” He commissioned me to share my journey along the way and release the revelations and healing He’s given me. I’m a work in progress, but I press forward to hit the mark to be all God has called me to be and to inspire you to push through every obstacle to be all God called you to be.
I only know in part, but I know God is raising me up to be his mouth piece. Eventually, I see myself being a full time artist, as well as a speaker, teacher/preacher, and life coach. My heart and ministry seems to be especially geared towards women, but also towards the mental health challenged, the depressed, oppressed, downtrodden, abused, rejected, addicted, and outcast. I also have a special heart for children and teens and have taught Sunday school in the past as well as worked with children in art therapy. I also have a special heart for the poverty stricken and the homeless.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4: 18-19 NIV)
