I made more collage fodder this past week, all kinds!!
On Wednesday, I got inspired by watching a Robyn Mcclendon video on using alcohol with her gelli plates. So I tried it, of course. It was super fun! I tried this on a variety of different papers, including parchment paper, deli paper, watercolor paper, and tissue paper, and even my new Japanese awagami papers. Below are the results. I think it gives it a weathered, chipped paint, kind of look! I started with some gelli prints I had already started with stencils and stamps as I like to create lots of layers. I used acrylic paints which I painted on with a brush and some distress sprays onto the gelli plate. Afterwards I dribbled 91% alcohol directly onto the gelli plate. The alcohol, of course, would cause sections to open up in little cells of separation. These definitely have a grunge appearance.
This below is one piece of parchment paper. I cut it into quarters in order to scan it, and to make it easier to store. This one now has the look and feel of a napkin. It ripped easily while wet.

This is deli paper (below). It is much more durable. It’s the same piece of paper, cut into quarters.

This is another deli paper that I cut into quarters to be able to scan.

These below are made on random pieces of parchment paper.

These two (below) are actually made from my left over painter’s paper (which I spread and mix my paints on). I added a few marks and colors with the neocolor crayons to the second orangey, pink, purple one.

These (below) were the alcohol gelli print technique made on top of existing paintings.

This one below employs the alcohol gelli print technique on the paper that comes as a backing when you buy a picture frame.

These (in the gallery below) were made Thursday. The 1st one is made with my new neocolor crayons, both wax resist and water soluble ones. It was fun to use both. I added some script with a number 2 pencil which I wrote out on tissue paper and then glued on. I’m interested in scripting. I actually analyzed the painting and wrote out what I saw or felt. I enjoyed that, but it’s still meant to be ripped up!
The next one is a typical collage. I was feeling the peachy corral color. I tried to keep it simple and added oil pastels and watercolor paints. I think I want to add some distress ink on it.
The last 3 are watercolor paintings, but I was trying to create some contrast with the black. I made an attempt to use more cool and neutral colors, but by the end that red snuck in there!

I love the deli paper ones especially! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for responding. I think those are my favorites, too, and also the random parchment paper ones.
