Golden Healing, Art Process, Part 7

So this is my Golden Healing Painting now. I will be using it in my workshop addressing rejection on Saturday.

Workshop Title, Rejection art

The painting itself is almost done, but not perfect. I added a glaze with white and yellow. At first, it looked like too much paint went into my glaze, and it was too late to fix it. I tried, though, and added a glaze with a teeny bit of gold in it. Then I tried metallic gold watercolor paints, and then I tried a wash with a hint of gold. You can see below that it was looking terrible.

I finished with my self leveling gel and hoped that when it dried, it would look better.

Golden Healing, in process, part 7, but almost done.

It certainly did look better after it dried. I saw another key at the bottom right of the girl that the string formed, so I turned it into a key by outlining it with gel pens and drawing a few more features. Then very boldly, and mostly because I was tired and wanted to be done with it, I drew a key into the sun’s rays (heaven’s rays of light beams,) without a pencil first, just using my gel pens of gold and black. I didn’t fuss over it. I just went for it! Luckily, it turned out OK. I did use a reference of an old skeleton key. I couldn’t remember where I saw the other key before, but it was in that area. So that would maybe make 3 keys God is releasing to us. I’m not sure the number matters, but the point is God showed me that he is releasing keys to us.

I will seek God more for a word to go with this painting later. For now, it is ready to include in my presentation, but it is not good enough for a finished art piece. I still have not fixed the blue blurs on my lady made last time. I added self leveling gel without spraying with a fixadent first. I didn’t make that mistake this time. I sprayed the whole thing with fixadent, especially those keys with the gel pens, because otherwise they would smear! Lesson learned. Crisis averted!!

P.S. I have so much more art to post…

    1. Aw, thank you. It’s exciting to work with God and see what He will do!! I want to get to the point where I’m painting and caught up in a heavenly encounter where it feels like I’m actually in heaven! That hasn’t happened yet, but I know God’s presence is with me while I paint. The last time I worked on this painting was the closest I got to losing myself in God while painting.
